Made for friends gallery!
Most of the things you see in this gallery were gifts I made for friends of mine. I RARELY take on commissions, and when I do it's usually only for friends.  I just don't have time to take those on right now...this is a hobby I do only for fun, and I'm afraid making a business out of it would take all of the fun out of it for me. It's really nice to surprise people, though!

I've made a lot of things for people I'm not putting here right now. Some of there were unimpressive in my opinion, and I might add more here or just create another gallery down the road!
BACK TO COSPLAY MAIN?
Chris looked older when i put all that hair on his face! One lady said he looked just like Liam Neeson, we had to laugh and agree.

He was SO patient while i put that on him, and even more so getting it off...i think he was probably scrubbing at it for 3 hours. Sorry, Chris!!
You'd have to see the show to get this, but I love it so much!!
I'll start out with my favorites I've made for someone: Azaka and Kamidake, from Tenchi Universe. These were made for Matt and Chris to wear!

Azaka and Kamidake are royal Jurian knights, legends say together they have the power to shatter stars.  I don't know about all of that, but these two were SO PATIENT while i dressed them for the con, putting it all in place, fake facial hair and make up...and they looked INCREDIBLE.

I was so proud of both of them. They really were a hit, and i was so happy to shove some friends into a spotlight!!!
This fellow is the "Washi", from Haibane Renmei.  Mysterious and mute, this turned out to be a little more involved than i first thought!
This is the Minotaur, from Tekkon Kinkreet (a movie i suggest anyone see). Made this for Matt, skull and all. It was traumatic. And stinky. Don't ask.
These pics were taken by Ronin's Photography!
Here they are looking large.

In Tenchi Universe, the guys' belts and accessories looked to be a solid tan color.

However, all of Jurai's power revolves around trees. Everything is made of wood, the trees are their sources of power and life, and constitute their weapons.

So i decided to paint their belts, buttons, and shoulder accessories to all have wood grain.

Some accuracy nazi's might not like the subtle alteration, but i was very happy with the completed look!
We all joined up with a bunch of friends, this might have been my favorite shot of some of them! Left to right: Chris, Morgan, Chris, Krys (seriously, 3 of them), and Matt.
Ok, a few other things, now!
This is Kansho and Bakuya, Archer's blades from Fate/Stay Night.
This is the pair made for Matt.  He carved them from solid pine, and I painted them. The handles are not yet wrapped in this picture, but i thought it showed the paint very nicely on the blades. I never want to paint a hexagon again.
The skull is made of fiberglass, resin, and clay.  Surprisingly light, but definitely not easy to see out of!
Matt does amazing wood work, he made the staff wood parts, and we rigged them all together at the convention!
This one was a true team effort. Matt made the jewelry bits, everything dangly! He carved and made his staff, and his mask! I sewed the outfit, and we rigged it all together at the convention the night before wearing!

I'd like to post some really nice photos of this, when we get some!
This is Dr. Horrible. And my friend Rob. Who is an honorary Amazon, just so you know.

Rob needed a Dr. Horrible coat for DragonCon, and wanted a really nice, accurate one, not just a costume shop doctors coat. I was nervous about this because i had to go on his measurements and he wasn't able to try it on until the day he was wearing it! But, it fit perfect, and he got SO much attention in it!  He got all of his accessories together on his own!
Rob is a ham. It's why we love him.

For now, this is the best picture of him that i have, but as soon as i get better i'll post them!
I'm sure more will be added in time, these are just my favorites for now!
I made a Graham costume for Matt! He made his epic glove, though!! There are a lot more photos of this on my Shamanic Princess page!
I made a T-1000 for Matt for DragonCon 2009 (he made his arm thingies!), it was SO CUTE.

(Is "cute" appropriate for a killing machine??)
Yet another one for Matt (he's become my dress-up doll)...Harlock! There's a lot more photos of this on my Emeraldas/
Harlock page
!!
I made my friend Maggie a sword and suprised her with it.

It's from a game called "Monster Hunter", in which you fight monster plants and animals, and make armor and weapons from their carcasses!
