Lady Amalthea of The Last Unicorn Lady Amalthea is a character who's not exceptionally well known, but the fans of the movie (like myself) can't get enough of it. I don't think this is an "anime", but one of those that is hard to categorize. Who cares, its awesome and i love it! Lady Amalthea is the human form of the last unicorn on Earth. Much to her dismay, she was transformed into a human by Schmendrick the Magician to save her life, though she is so upset by this she insists death would have been preferrable...something she sways on later. Now, my design from this is a bit different from the anime, and i have my own reason for this: I read the book long before i had seen the movie, and so had an image in my head of her dress. Not that i didn't like the one in the anime, but i wanted to stick with a bit more of the renaissance style in my head. And of course, not being capable of putting contacts in leaves me with blue eyes instead of her lovely purple ones. Always a complaint with me. I'm sure those who prefer the anime may wish i had stuck closer to the dress in that, but hey, sometimes i have to make a costume what i want, and sometimes i follow the character design down to the last seam.

I guess i'm posting my favorite from this shoot first...something about the lighting in this one was nice, i am pretty happy with it!

Not entirely sure of my face in this shot...she's so very pretty, i always just think its hard to measure up. And its pretty far away.

I have mixed feelings on this shot, but i'm posting it, we worked SO FREAKING HARD for it. It kind of freaks me out how light my eye got in the sun, i seem to have a zombie eye going on there. Yes, that is a real tear, not CGed on...bless my poor, patient photographers' lil heart! and omg the sun hurt my eyes... Don't try this at home, kids.

This is the difference in dress design i was referring to. I went with what i imagined in the book first, not the movie i saw later. Don't kill me ;.;

I'm usually so down on my pics...i don't particularly like my face in this, but something about these pretty woodsy backgrounds...its simple and serene, it makes me want to camp again soon. So...here's a forest shot!

And just cause you know i can't be serious for more than..like...2 minutes...heres me climbing out of the creek laughing at my wet butt. Be glad you didn't have to hear me squeal at the squirrels in the woods. .....Amalthea never squealed....
