Diva Plavalaguna from The Fifth Element YARR I AM SICK OF THIS ONE! T.T Ahem....This costume killed me. It went on WAY too long, took WAY too much money, and WAY too much time. It was heavy and uncomfortable, too. But i am proud that i finished it, there were times i wanted to kill it with fire. Diva Plavalaguna is an exotic alien that didn't get much air time in the Fifth Element movie, yet managed to capture the imagination of everyone who loved the movie, and alot of people who didn't.  There's so much about her that wasn't mentioned in the movie...that she only sings once every 5 years, that she only sings for 10 minutes, that she KNOWS that this performance is to be her last, and that her destiny was only to live to protect the stones, thus doing her part to save the Earth and humanity. She is able to communicate mentally with those who serve her, and with Leeloo. Supposedly is is composed of genetic material from many beautiful beings in the universe, Mangalores being excluded from that. But this is all heresay, ne? For her short airtime and sad end, she still stands out as a high point in the movie. I don't come close, but i tried! And no...noone wants to hear me sing. :p

This is another one that i CGed the backgrounds. I am not enjoying doing this, and am going back to using normal backgrounds for my cosplay, most likely from now on. But i kind of had to for Diva and Leeloo...you don't just stumble on sets like that for photos. Sorry i'm not better at it. Yes....Korben and Ruby are somewhere out there!!

I hated this shot the most. Best to get it out of the way i guess. Bad color, bad light, bad cg.

I think i look like i'm looking down my nose at you here. but i was liking the backgrounds more as i went.

This background wasn't a frame from the movie, i built it. But i think it still works.

Also, i'm pretty limited with poses here. I mean, she's in the movie for like 8 minutes to sing a song. But i got enough shots to show the outfit.  Also, i will totally admit that in a couple of these i "blurred" the belly of the dress...it sagged just a bit there and wasn't snug on the belly, i thought that it maybe killed the effect a little. But i dont' like to photoshop my outfits themselves, so theres the disclaimer.

I just think this one looks cheese. i'm like AAAH!

This was another one i built the background myself on, but i think its one of my favorite shots. You can tell i'm getting into it there XD
